Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a man in custody by the Hot Springs Police Department.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas State Police are investigating after a man died in custody of the Hot Springs Police Department on Saturday morning.

According to investigators, at 9:45 a.m., the officers responded to a call for a social check-up and found Brandon Klorik, 30, from Hot Springs, who had been taken into custody for his behavior.

Authorities say Klorik was unavailable while in detention and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Hot Springs Police asked Arkansas State Police to take over the investigation.

The three officers involved have been taken on administrative leave, depending on the policy, until the investigation is complete.
