It looks like Arkansas has a new favorite Halloween candy.

In its annual data announcement, Candy Store found that Arkansas is now one of three states that favors Butterfinger candy bars in the months leading up to Halloween.

The company, which delivers and distributes bulk candy orders across the country, uses sales data to determine the most popular candy in each state.

This year’s data shows that nearly 202,000 pounds of Butterfinger bars were delivered or distributed to Arkansas for Halloween. Jolly Ranchers, which was the favorite in the Natural State last year, has fallen to No. 2 at just under 199,000 pounds. M&M’s was in third pace at nearly 103,000 pounds.

Other states that favor Butterfinger include South Carolina and Wisconsin.

As for the United States as a whole, Candy Store says Reese’s Cups have again taken the top spot.

Halloween-related sales declined in 2020 during the pandemic, but rebounded in 2021 to an all-time high of $10.14 billion, according to the National Retail Federation. That number is expected to hit another record at $10.6 billion in 2022, with $3.1 billion in candy sales alone.
