JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) – The Mississippi Match 5 jackpot has increased to $655,000 ahead of Tuesday, January 31st’s drawing.
This one approaches the biggest Mississippi Match 5 jackpot of $665,000 hit in July 2021.
The January 28 drawing sold 51 tickets with four out of five winning numbers, with prizes ranging from $200 to $1,000. 2,065 tickets matching three out of five winning numbers were sold and 18,979 tickets matching two out of five winning numbers were sold.
Why have there been so many massive Powerball, Mega Millions jackpots lately?
The jackpot for the January 30 Powerball drawing is an estimated $613 million with an estimated cash value of $329 million. In the August 13, 2022 Powerball drawing, an unclaimed $500,000 ticket was purchased in McComb that expires on February 9.
The jackpot for Tuesday, January 31’s Mega Millions drawing is worth an estimated $31 million, with an estimated cash value of $16.5 million. There is an unclaimed $4 million ticket purchased in Byram from the January 3rd Mega Millions draw that expires on July 2nd.
The next Mississippi Match 5 jackpot drawing will be held on Tuesday 31st January. It is the 22nd drawing since the last drawing on December 10, 2022.
