CONWAY, Ark. – Back on the road for the fourth time in five games, the Central Arkansas women’s soccer team heads back to Tulsa, Okla., this time to play the namesake school on Thursday. Kickoff against the Golden Hurricane is set for 6 pm at Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

With a 1-2-1 record, the Bears are looking to find their first win on the road this season, currently only having played at home once. Last time out saw Central Arkansas surrender a 1-0 loss to Oral Roberts.

Three Bears have tallied goals this season, including freshman Tristyn Pavatt. One of 12 players seeing their first action in Purple and Gray, Pavatt has been a spark off the bench, utilizing her speed at the top of the formation to test and stretch defenses. Also scoring goals this season are returners Taylor Lassiter and Kelly Van Gundy, who started and finished the scoring against Little Rock.

Head coach Jeremy Bishop tallied his 100th win at Central Arkansas against Little Rock, the first coach in program history to reach the milestone. Faced with one of his youngest rosters in his 11 seasons, Bishop looks to navigate the development of his team while balancing outside expectations after winning the ASUN West last year.

Hosting the Bears with a 2-1-1 record, the Golden Hurricane head back home after a 3-2 win at Missouri State on Sunday. Tallying three goals in the first 60 minutes, Tulsa saw a balanced effort, with all three goals coming from different players, despite being outshot 14-8 by the Bears.

Tulsa’s other win of the year came via Mid-American Christian, a 3-0 shutout in the squad’s season opener. The Golden Hurricane played a 1-1 draw against Kansas City, and lost a 1-0 decision against Oklahoma State. Under second-year head coach Jim Rhein, Tulsa was selected to finish last in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll. Last season, the team carried a 1-6-1 conference record.

Kickoff against the Golden Hurricane is set for 6 pm on Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with live stats available here.
