The Great Employee Give Back of 2023 offers employers the opportunity to provide data, including current addresses, and our unclaimed property team will cross-check the information against our records. If we find a match, the employee can easily claim their money. In many cases, we can write checks without employee involvement.

The Great Employee Give Back project began as a pilot program with BRG, which employs more than 4,000 people. After the healthcare system got its own check in late 2022, leaders began thinking about how to do the same for their team members.

“We sent the Unclaimed Property team a list of our employees a few weeks ago,” said Kendall Johnson, BRG’s chief financial officer. “Now they deliver checks personally. It can not get easier.”

“The Louisiana Department of Treasury has more than $1 billion in funds in the unclaimed property program waiting to be claimed,” Schroder said. “We’re always looking for data sources that contain up-to-date addresses, and we know that employers should have this information for their employees. We’re getting new money all the time, and our team is always trying to find new ways to connect people to their lost or forgotten money.”
