Singer R. Kelly’s key to the city has been revoked
A Louisiana State representative overturned an award previously presented to singer R. Kelly.
State representative C. Denise Marcelle, who was a member of the Baton Rouge Metro Council, revoked the 2013 ceremonial keys from the city.
The performer has been found guilty of sex trafficking, child sexual exploitation, and kidnapping, among other things.
A jury in Brooklyn convicted the 54-year-old R&B star in all nine sex trafficking and extortion cases.
According to a report on Baton Rouge’s WAFB-TV, Marcelle has insisted that the victims should be the focus.
Mother arrested after child found dead
The mother of a deceased 2-year-old girl was arrested in Baton Rouge.
The police also arrested the woman’s boyfriend in relation to the death and charged him.
The girl’s mother, Lanaya Caldwell, and boyfriend Philip Gardner were both charged with the death of Nevaeh Allen, police confirmed during a meeting.
Mother accused of throwing children into the sea
In Shreveport, a mother is accused of throwing two of her children into a lake.
Ureka Black reportedly dumped 10-month-old Joshua Black and his 5-year-old brother in Cross Lake, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s office.
The ten-month-old child was pronounced dead by the coroner.
Medicines stolen at gunpoint
The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of suspects accused of stealing a drug truck on the highway. 190.
More than a quarter of a million dollars worth of drugs were stolen, according to the authorities.
MPs said the truck was run over by a motorcyclist up to the shoulder on the morning of September 23, when the three suspects allegedly tied up the driver and held him at gunpoint while he was stealing the truck.
Authorities reported the truck was left in a field in West Baton Rouge parish.
Lottery sales are rising in Louisiana
The Louisiana Lottery Corporation released details of a recent audit that found the company had total sales of $ 625 million.
Fiscal year 2021 was $ 115.8 million more than the previous year.
Operating costs increased $ 84.5 million to a total of $ 417.6 million.
